Lisa Martin is a freelance journalist based in Copenhagen. For the past three years, she was a Southeast Asia correspondent with Agence France-Presse in Bangkok. She covered the 2020 Thai pro-democracy protests, the Myanmar military coup, the Winter Paralympics in Beijing as well as Thai and Cambodian elections.

Lisa served as President of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand in 2023.

Previously she was based in Melbourne with The Guardian and the Canberra Press Gallery with Australian Associated Press.

Lisa is an award-winning reporter and a four-time Walkley Award finalist - Australia’s most prestigious prizes for excellence in journalism.

She’s presently writing her first novel.
